Thank you. I think you rockaholics would really like the Cripple Creek Turquoise. They say it is the hardest of them all. An eight on the mohos scale. It just comes alive when you go to polish it. Almost like an instant shine. I am new at all this and while polishing them I had my felt pad fly off its feathering adhesive for the first time. Whheeee right across the room....LOL. Time for a new one anyway. I need to find a good supplier for sanding belts, wheels and pads e.c.t.

About a month ago I was chatting with a guy at a flee market that sold Turquoise. his stones were white under the color and he said that all Turquoise was colored. Is this true or was he just selling cheap crap-ish stuff?

Not all Turquoise is colored, it seems that more and more is colored and/or stabilized. The true color hard stuff is pretty pricey, but most of the cheaper stuff is colored and/or stabilized.

If it was white under the color it was howlite. Howlite is a white stone that can be dyed blue and resemble turquoise. Most of your nuggets at bead stores are dyed howlite. It is hard to tell from the outside but as soon as you cut one you will see what it truly is.

A matching ring was requested a week later. It has two Cripple Creek stones and is adjustable. I am getting the hang of things now. I think I only cursed once while making this.

Ooh sometimes I just want to throw my cabs on the ground. On the brighter side I hardly have to trim my nails anymore. I have been thinking of just resting the tips of my fingers on the wheel and doing away with my finger prints. Why I could knock over a....no no bad idea.

Very nice work. Good balance, and shape that brings out the three cabs.
