Question about cutting rings

Postby SteveP on Sun Mar 01, 2009 11:10 am

Ok so I need to cut some rings from agate. I am looking to cut them in 8, 10, 12, and maybe 14mm rings. I will be wrapping them in silver and soldering those into a guide frame tp use as guides for custom built flyrods. Any help on this matter is greatly appreciatedas I am not 100% on exactly how to do this. If need be I can post a pic or two of what I am trying to accomplish.

I would use two diamond hole saws to do that. Take a flat slab of rock and drill the smaller inner hole first, then drill around that with a larger hole saw. I would use a drill press to keep everything well centered.
