Volcanic rock from Kuwait?

Postby bitterbrook on Mon Mar 17, 2008 9:04 am

A friend of mine tripped over this rock while he was in Kuwait and brought it home.

Looks volcanic to me. Anyone got a Kuwaiti rock ID book?

Pretty stone, Steve. I haven't a clue about its origins, but there may be other than volcanic processes that could produce such a pattern.

I have no clue, could it possibly be a brecciated stone within desert glass? It looks nice. How hard is it?
Thanks for the picture!

Sure does look brecciated but you don't see them with such small pieces very often.
