I have done some prospecting in California, The Mother Load. Very very few nuggets but a quite a bit of dust that splits 3 or 4 ways with my old partners. Mostly get buckets of pay dirt then run it through a sluse when we get back. After a heavy flood season is good pickens in river gorges around tree roots and under big rocks. I bought a used backpack dredge one time but it was hard to keep the thing running. That was back when I was younger and that old guy Buzzard was on the tube talking about prospecting.
